Nick found CrossFit ten years ago in the worst shape of his life, and it changed the trajectory of his health and his career. He's now a CrossFit Level 2 trainer and certified nutrition coach with 25+ years of experience building people, from college campuses to boardrooms. Before founding CrossFit Liminal, Nick spent nearly two decades growing teams and raising funds to expand programming into underserved communities. Nick founded CrossFit Liminal as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to make fitness and nutrition coaching accessible to everyone, now serving 120+ members, with sliding-scale memberships and culturally appropriate classes for Afghan and refugee neighbors in Clarkston. He's built the gym around a diverse, come-as-you-are community, where people of every background and fitness level find a place to belong. His coaching philosophy is simple: real strength isn't just physical, it's whole-life strength, built for the version of you that shows up everywhere, not just in the gym. That's the strength he coaches every member toward. His favorite benchmark workout is Glen, since it hits a little of everything, including his favorite movement, the clean and jerk.

She's a CrossFit Level 2 trainer and HSN coach who brings a high-energy vibe to every class, while still holding the line on good movement patterns and making sure each member has the right scale to push to their own capacity that day. Stephany believes the other 23 hours outside the gym matter just as much as the one you spend with her, so she works closely with members on growth mindset and setting S.M.A.R.T. goals to help their progress stick. For her, coaching is about being part of the best hour of someone's day, the one where they get to focus on themselves and their health. Her favorite movements are handstand push-ups, dumbbell snatches, and box jumps, and nothing beats watching a member walk out with a new skill, a PR, or just a big smile (and a lot of sweat).

He believes fitness should feel good, not just be good for you. His favorite movement is a good squat, no contest.

His coaching style is built on teaching proper movement mechanics and a solid foundation first, so progress lasts. He works to create a positive, supportive environment where every athlete has room to keep developing. The most rewarding part of coaching, for Mike, is watching consistent effort pay off, especially that light-bulb moment when a cue finally clicks and an athlete truly understands a movement. His favorite movement is the snatch, because it demands strength, speed, coordination, and precision all at once.

She's a CF-L1 trainer and BirthFit trained to support perinatal athletes, and much of her work centers on peri- and postmenopausal women, meeting their bodies where they are and helping them build strength for the seasons ahead. Liz strives to see and attune to the unique strengths and challenges each person brings with them. She considers it a privilege to be there as members face challenges, discover strengths they didn't know they had, and grow more confident in their ever-changing bodies, a process that never stops being remarkable to witness. Her favorite movement is the equally loved and loathed thruster, nothing else asks the whole body to show up and work together quite the same way.
