Every year on June 20th, the world observes World Refugee Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness and honoring the strength and resilience of refugees worldwide. It is a time to reflect on the challenges faced by forcibly displaced individuals, while also highlighting the essential need for compassion, understanding, and global solidarity.
The world is currently experiencing one of the largest refugee crises in history, with millions of people forcibly uprooted from their homes due to conflict, persecution, and natural disasters. These individuals often face unimaginable hardships, risking their lives and leaving behind everything they hold dear in search of safety and a better future.
Clarkston, GA has emerged as a symbol of hope and resilience. With a population of just over 13,000, Clarkston has become a beacon of compassion and integration, providing a safe haven for those seeking refuge and a fresh start. CrossFit Liminal is proud to call Clarkston home.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their health and fitness. Our mission is to make fitness and nutrition coaching accessible to refugees and the broader community of Clarkston, GA. We know that CrossFit — through its methodology and unique ability to build community — is one of the most effective ways we can build relationships with refugees and grow a community seeking health and fitness together.
